NFL's five most underrated receiving corps in 2017

Image
I am factory, wholesale NFL NHL MLB NBA NCAA jerseys this is my store please contact me any time http://www.fanatiquesmaillot.com/ Before the Chicago Bears broke camp for the summer, one of their new receivers, Markus Wheaton, said the team boasts one of the more underrated receiving corps in football. While a player  should believe that about his team, a lot of moving parts need to work out for the Bears to have a successful aerial attack this season. But Wheaton got us thinking. Which teams might actually boast the most underrated receiving groups in the NFL as we head toward training camp? Here's my run at the top five ... 1) Minnesota Vikings » Stefon Diggs (84 receptions, 903 yards, three touchdowns) » Adam Thielen (69 receptions, 967 yards, five touchdowns) » Laquon Treadwell* (1 reception, 15 yards) Why are they underrated? The Vikings led the league last year in cumulative catch percentage for a w...

Cam Newton: I don't always need to be the playmaker

Image
I am factory, wholesale NFL NHL MLB NBA NCAA jerseys this is my store please contact me any time http://www.fanatiquesmaillot.com/ The Carolina Panthers spent the offseason revamping the offense to take some of the load off Cam Newton's shoulders. In an interview with Bill Voth of the team's official website, the rehabbing quarterback acknowledged he doesn't have to move the offense all by himself. "The thing I have to realize is my job is not necessarily to always be the playmaker," Newton said. "I have to give other people opportunities to make plays. That's the hardest thing about maturation, especially for me. "So having more comfort in trusting the guys around me is the biggest thing. Trust and knowing my job is giving everybody a chance and letting them do their job as well." The Panthers plan to run Newton less and get the ball out of his hands quicker in 2017. To aid that endeavor, the team selected running back Christ...

Drew Brees: Terron Armstead injury big blow for Saints

Image
Drew Brees didn't disguise how he feels about the New Orleans Saints losing one of their best offensive assets. Left tackle Terron Armstead underwent surgery for a torn labrum in his left shoulder last week and Brees didn't mince words of what losing Armstead means to him and the Saints. "Listen, that's a big blow. I'm not going to lie,"Brees told Larry Holder of The Times-Picayune on Tuesday. "He worked so hard to come back and to have something like that with a freaky injury, I'm really saddened for him and for our team. He plays a huge role. We always find ways and we have to have these young guys step up. We don't know exactly how that shakes things up." Armstead's recovery is set to last 4-6 months, leaving a huge void at one of the offensive line's most crucial positions. He has struggled with injuries his entire career, never playing a full 16-game season -- he was limited to seven games in 2016. Two-time Pro Bowl ...

Pats' Gilmore, Butler league's best cornerback duo?

Image
The Seahawks, Broncos, Vikings and Texans have cornered the  dream team  defense market for the past year or two, but the Patriots won't be far behind in 2017. The tandem of Stephon Gilmore and Malcolm Butler is up there with the best cornerback duos in football on paper. On  NFL Total Access  on Monday, Gilmore said he's excited to try and make it happen. "We just gotta go out there and prove ourselves every day; get better in practice you know?" Gilmore said. "Every year it starts over and we gotta be hungry. We gotta go out there and prove to everyone in the league that we can play the game at a high level so I think if we do that, everything else will speak for itself." Bill Belichick is no stranger to dueling shutdown corners. During the 2014 Super Bowl run he paired a 29-year-old Darrelle Revis with a pre-collapse Brandon Browner. Before that, it was Aqib ...

Byron Jones: LB Jaylon Smith 'balling out so far'

Image
Dallas Cowboys third-year cornerback Byron Jones isn't worried about being an elder statesman on a depleted defense with low expectations. That's mostly because he's high on a pair of players Dallas fans have yet to see on the field. On  NFL   Total Access  on Monday, Jones said rookie Taco Charlton and second-year linebackerJaylon Smith are way ahead of expectations. Smith, who missed all of last season while recovering from a serious knee injury he suffered at the end of his college football career, has been especially impressive. "He's healthy, he's 100 percent," Jones said. "His mind -- he doesn't worry about what happened two years ago. He doesn't care about that. What he's trying to do, I think his motto is clear-eyed vision. He's doing well at that. He's balling out for us so far. He's learning the playbook and he looks healthy running around." On Charlton: "We like him. He's a big dude," Jo...

Martellus explains difference between Brady, Rodgers

Martellus Bennett is one of the luckier tight ends in the NFL. In a league where it quickly gets ugly at quarterback after the top-tier, Bennett has gone from catching Tom Brady's passes to landing on his feet with Aaron Rodgers at the helm after signing with Green Bay this offseason. Bennett said Friday on  NFL Total Access  switching from one future Hall of Fame quarterback to another wasn't "by chance. That was strategic." After accumulating 701 yards and seven touchdowns on 55 receptions in New England to go along with a Super Bowl ring, Bennett has set the bar high on the numbers he can produce. In the early stages of developing a rapport with Rodgers, the tight end has already noticed some differences between working with the two signal-callers. "With playing with Tom, it was a lot of coaching -- like little things," Bennett said. "Like the way he wanted you to get your head around quicker because he wants to get t...

Derek Carr: I'll hand it to Marshawn on 1-yard line

Image
It's pretty good to be  Derek Carr  these days. A new $125 million contract. As much Chick-fil-A as any human could ever want. The trendy  Super Bowl  buzz. And a new toy on offense in  Marshawn Lynch . Pairing Lynch on the ground with the ascending Carr- Amari Cooper  tandem in the air makes Oakland one of the most dynamic offenses  in the league. The  Raiders  traded for the bruising running back this offseason with their eye on a run at a title, using Lynch as a punishing hammer on defenses, especially in the cold December contests and as the calendar turns to January. But could Carr feel compelled to prove his value now that he's the highest-paid player in league history? Will he feel the need win games with his arm over just handing the ball off to Lynch and letting Beast Mode do its thing? Don't count on it. "My No. 1 goal is that I'm going to make sure that I give everything I have to this organization," Carr told reporters Fr...

Jay Gruden eager to give Jamison Crowder bigger role

Image
With the departures of  DeSean Jackson  and Pierre Garcon this offseason, there will be a bevy of targets available in Washington. One player who figures to benefit from the  Redskins  shaking up their receiving corps is  Jamison Crowder . The 5-foot-8 dynamo led all  Redskins  wideouts last season with seven touchdowns. Crowder racked up 847 yards on 67 grabs, and also was tops on the team with 383 yards after the catch, per Pro Football Focus. He provided  Kirk Cousins  with a nice security blanket primarily in the slot, but his role could expand this campaign. "I've said all along Jamison can play anywhere," Redskins  head coach Jay Gruden said,  via The Washington Post . "He can play outside, inside. He can play running back probably if he wanted to. So we'll utilize Jamison and try to get him more involved, not just in the passing game and the running game."  Around The NFL 's own Marc Sessler  hailed...

Bill O'Brien: We won't have to limit Deshaun Watson

Image
When the  Texans  took  Deshaun Watson  with the No. 12 pick in the 2017  NFL Draft , he was viewed as the long-term solution to Houston's abyss of mediocrity at quarterback. The rookie signal-caller will battle for the starting gig throughout the summer against ( the  previouslydeemed illusory) Tom Savage. The  Texans ' staff has raved about Savage's progress this offseason, but Watson has also turned heads. Most importantly, he has caught the attention of head coach Bill O'Brien, although it also appears the Clemson product has to gain a lot of ground in the team's quarterback competition. "He's a very poised guy," O'Brien said, via the Houston Chronicle . "I like the way he carries himself. I like the way he operates. He's a rookie, and he's not nearly where he needs to be to be a full-time starter in this league, but you can tell he's got a lot of qualities you like. "For being a rookie, he's wise beyond his yea...
